Design note

The property is located on Leckhamton Road which is a busy tree lined thoroughfare leading into Cheltenham town centre. It is Grade II Listed and within the Central Conservation Area.

The design brief was to extensively refurbish the property and remove the incongruous rear extensions and garage. In their place we proposed a contemporary garden room extension which will include a kitchen, dining room and sitting area. The garden is approximately 1.5 metres below ground floor level therefore we propose a frameless glazed link which will connect the original house to the new extension. The walls of the extension will be finished in a dark decorative brickwork which will complement the existing garden walls and contrast the off white lime render and bath stone of the original house. The roof will be planted with sedum interspersed with wild flowers.

Planning and Listed Building Consent was granted in late 2015 and the project is currently on site.
